A student-led aviation community.
We give students opportunities to learn, build, connect, and experience aviation firsthand.
Increase student access to aviation.
Aviation Club exists to connect UW–Madison students with aviation beyond the classroom through hands-on engineering and manufacturing projects, flight experiences, professional development, industry connections, and community.
Aviation is a career field and a hands-on discipline, not just a hobby.
Pilots, engineers, and the plain curious.
We're broader than a traditional flying club. Members come from every major and experience level.
You don't have to be a pilot.
Membership isn't limited to pilots, engineers, a particular college, or people with aviation experience. If you're interested in aviation, you belong here.
How to joinQuestions
Do I need to be a pilot or have aviation experience?
No. Anyone interested in aviation is welcome.
Do I need to be an engineering major?
No. Members come from every school and college at UW–Madison.
Is this a flight school?
No. We're a student organization, not a flight-training provider. We connect members with pilots, local flying clubs, and flight experiences.
How much time does it take?
General membership is flexible. Feel free to only attend activities that you're interested in. If you apply for a project role, there are specific requirements that depend on the role.
Are there dues?
We are supported fully through fundraising and industry partners. We don't charge students any dues.
Aviation Club is a registered student organization at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Official membership, event registration, and RSO administration are handled through Campus Groups.
